HMF Racing signs on to be a Contingency Program Marketing Partner for the 2009 ITP Championship Mud Racing presented by Can-Am.

Oregon, WI (Motor Sports Newswire) March 9, 2009  - SIMMS Motorsports Marketing is thrilled to announce the signing of HMF Racing as a Product Contingency Marketing Partner for the 2009 ITP Championship Mud Racing presented by Can-Am.

http://rs6.net/tn.jsp?et=1102502535701&e=001y6MS46eqb48ppRVYXwnesL-E3vP8K1qb6u3AmfyrBQMh80THqvl_u7c5_4xUp7wC7sslP0U1Tatne1b9QQh1DspiR9ejZlYqjrDDcysl4oA2gfx_TvWOP36hKcKoZWtvThe HMF Racing Contingency Program will provide a "SWAMP SERIES" exhaust system to "Super Pro" Class 4 winner at each of the 10 events during the 2009 ITP Championship Mud Racing presented by Can-Am racing season.

Swamp Series: The HMF Swamp Series was designed specifically for quads that need pure, all out horsepower. Through the deep, muddy waters to the starting line of the GNCC, the Swamp Series blisters power that gives you absolute control.. It features a 5" stainless steel exhaust and produces very little sound dB over stock. And with the optional HMF Quiet Core, most machines can see a dB decrease over stock!

HMF Racing was founded in 1997 by Hans Luenger in Cleveland, Ohio. Hans started the company by himself in his garage building private label aftermarket performance Ducati Motorcycle exhausts for Fast By Ferracci. After refinancing his house three times between 1999 and 2002 and selling his Corvette and FZR 1000 to keep the business alive, HMF reinvented itself once again by plunging into the ATV exhaust market in late 2002.. As the industry leader in customizable parts and colors, HMF Engineering, Inc. develops the highest performance exhaust systems in a variety of different series. Each series has it's own unique attributes that makes it different from the others.

Championship Mud Racing: The popularity of competitive mud racing is growing at an enormous pace.  In 2006, leaders in the ATV industry began discussions of having a unified set of competition rules that would allow for some uniformity among competitions around the country.  This set of rules gave birth to the need for organization among event promoters and the desire for more media attention among competitors.  Unification would allow for a true points system that could ultimately lead to a true National Championship, adding national value to what was once a backyard hobby among sportsmen around the country. Championship Mud Racing is not restricted to any one state; it is a TRUE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP!

We here at CMR do not normally go public with internal situations but due to the amount of information that has been going around about Fuel Tanks we feel as though this should be made public. DO NOT MISREAD OR MISUNDERSTAND WHAT WE ARE SAYING! WE ARE NOT PASSING RUMORS, LIES OR TRYING TO GIVE ANYONE A BAD NAME. WE ARE JUST GIVING THE FACTS.

It was brought to our attention two weeks ago by a racer, not the manufacturer of this product, that a gas tank has been built for the Can-Am brand ATV that relocates the fuel tank and the battery to the front of the Can-Am Outlander and Renegade. This tank is well built and has some of the best quality workmanship we have seen. However, due to the location of the tank the racers committee and CMR officials feel like this tank will be unsafe so it will not be allowed at any of the CMR stops. We have spent over a week looking into this matter and we have given the company time to send us the product so it could be examined by the racer committee.

We have heard that there will be many racers trying to race the product or cause an issue at the first CMR stop. THIS WILL NOT BE TOLERATED!!! IF YOU DO NOT DO AS THE OFFICIALS TELL YOU, YOU WILL BE REMOVED FROM THE PARK WITH NO REFUND!!! The CMR officials will not discuss with you why we are not allowing the product. There is nothing more to say. We have made our ruling now LETS RACE!

THERE IS NOTHING MORE TO SAY ABOUT THIS TOPIC. THIS POST WILL BE LOCKED AND ALL OTHER POSTS ABOUT THE TANKS WILL BE REMOVED.
THANK YOU & HAVE A SAFE DAY.

Presenting Sponsor for 2009

For the second year in a row Can-am will be the "Presenting Sponsor" for CMR and they will also be the official ATV of CMR for the second year in a row. The Can-Am brand has become the number one choice of "Mudders" all over the world. Their quality, power and reliability has taken mud racing and mud riding to a whole new level. We here at CMR are honored to have Can-Am as part of our series.

Friday, December 19, 2008

For the 2009 race season we are going to have a Swamp Cross and Kiddie Bog competition only. Both competitions will receive a full set of rules and classes by January 1, 2009. This does not mean that there will not be a separate mud bog competition or even a Buddy Run. It just means if you are racing for points you will need to race in the Swamp Cross .

There are many different reasons we made the decision to race Swamp cross only. One is due to the economy for 2009. The Swamp Cross will be held on Saturday evening meaning that the racers will need to take less time off from work.

Reason two: If you ask any racer, spectator or sponsor about the 2008 Season they will bring up the Swamp Cross. This is an important key to making the series grow. We need to leave an impact on all of them.

Reason Three: Pay Outs: Instead of the pay outs being split 12 or 13 different ways that number will be cut in half, meaning the pay outs will be higher.

Reason Four: (Some will agree, some will disagree) Allowing there to be a Mud bog competition without a points system or a huge pay out at the end of the year allows us to give back to the "Grass Roots" racer. This means the sport continues to look back on where we came from and it brings in new racers.

Thanks for your support in 2008 and we hope to see you in 2009.

Kevin Palmer

Can-Am Nationals Registration Cut-Off Times

Here they are.  Plan and drive accordingly.

LET ME BE PERFECTLY CLEAR!!!!

CUT OFFS WILL HAPPEN AT THESE POSTED TIMES.  IF YOU SHOW UP AFTER THESE SPECIFIED TIMES, YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO REGISTER TO RACE.  IF YOU SHOW UP LATE FOR STAGING, YOU WILL NOT RACE.  PERIOD.

(Hate to sound like a jerk here...but when we say we want to go racing at 11, that means 11!  We don't want to wait to start the race.)

SO...

FRIDAY -

Registration on Friday for SwampCross will be from noon until 5pm.  During this time, you may also register for Saturday's Mud Bog.  Registration will END at 5pm to allow for bracketing.

Staging for the SwampCross will begin PROMPTLY on Friday night at 6pm.  Any rider NOT PRESENT during staging will AUTOMATICALLY forfeit their race position and will lose entry fees.

SwampCross racing begins on Friday night at 7pm.

SATURDAY -

Registration will be open for Mud Bog from 8am until 9am for last-minute registration.  Registration will END at 9am to allow for bracketing.

Staging for the Mud Bog will begin PROMPTLY on Saturday morning at 10am.  Any rider NOT PRESENT during staging will AUTOMATICALLY forfeit their postiion and will lose entry fees.

Mud Bog/Youth Bog racing begins on Saturday morning at 11am.

Once again, this is not an effort to be ruthless.  This is an effort to become more organized.  When spectators come to see a show, they expect the show to begin on time.  From this day forward...we will.

Thank you for your understanding.

JC

CMR Announces Rider Penalties

Due to multiple rules and/or ethics violations that occured in Doles, GA at CMR Tour Stop #3, penalties have been handed down from CMR Officials and the Board of Directors.

The rider in question has been penalized all CMR points for the 2008 season and has been issued a "Black Flag" status which prevents the rider from competing at CMR racing events for the remainder of the 2008 racing season. The rider will be welcome to return in 2009.

Please understand that, while we regret having to penalize any rider for any reason at any time, the CMR Official Rules must be followed at all times. Failure to follow posted rules and regulations will result in immediate action taken by CMR officials.

Thank you. The CMR.

FINALLY...the revised registration form is ready for download.  You can download the new registration form by clicking the following link:

2008 CMR Registration (revised)

Again, there is NO deadline for registration and registration is NOT mandatory in order to race in CMR sanctioned events.  However, you cannot collect CMR Championship Series Points until you have registered...nor are you eligible for CMR Contingency Programs until you have registered.  If you have any questions, feel free to contact The CMR Director at info@championshipmudracing.com.

Monday, April 14th, 2008

There seems to be a lot of questions about CMR Registration Policies...so, let me try to clear up confusion.

1.  "I heard that April 15th is the last day to register for CMR..."

There is NO DEADLINE for CMR Registration.  Yes...I know that the registration form said that the deadline was April 15th (tomorrow).  This was a misprint...or an error in proof-reading on my part.  There is NO DEADLINE for registration with the CMR.  If you choose to register in JULY...you can.  I am trying to get the new (revised) CMR Registration Form updated...and having upload issues.

2.  "Do I HAVE to register for CMR to race at CMR-Sanctioned events?"

No.  Anyone can race at CMR-Sanctioned events, whether you are registered with CMR or not.  The goal for The CMR is to grow the sport of competitive mud racing.  To cut off the racing to everyone would be like cutting off our nose to spite our face.  If you are registered, you stand a chance at making more money on wins and bonuses throughout the year, but it is not a REQUIREMENT to compete at these events.  In order to collect points for the championship and be recognized with contingency programs, you must be registered...but it is not required to race.

3.  "Well, if I can only make a couple of the events, I'm just not going to register!"

Again, there are companies that will be offering contingency programs to CMR Members that will benefit you even if you can't make all of the events.  To be eligible for these contingencies, you must be a CMR member.  Who knows...you might just leave something on the table that you might have wanted/needed and the CMR membership would have qualified you for the prize.

I hope these answers are what you are looking for.  Please feel free to contact CMR Headquarters anytime and I will gladly answer any question you may have...PERSONALLY.  If you search for answers online, you may or may not get the RIGHT answer.  If in doubt, please contact me DIRECTLY by calling my cell phone:  318-613-4632 and I will do my best to answer questions you have.

We understand that there are some questions regarding The CMR, the governing body, and the Board of Directors.  The Board is made up of several executives from major companies in the ATV Industry, as well as representatives from ATV Media Publications.  Later this week, the Board of Directors will be posted on The CMR website to make these names public.  We understand that there are lots of questions.  Please understand that we cannot respond to all posts and questions on every forum on the web.  Out of respect for the hard work of other industry companies, we will not use another company's forum or website to announce CMR News.  If you read a post on another forum or website that does not reference a link to this site with an official announcement, we cannot guarantee that the post is factual.  If you have questions regarding CMR announcements, policies, or news, please contact us directly at info@championshipmudracing.com.
